Before & After School Programming

Before and after school programming provides academic assistance to help students become successful, independent learners. Students in these programs receive tailored, individualized support through coordination and communication between their daytime teachers and their after-school teachers. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) activities are also offered, necessary for students to gain  workforce skills. Other activities include a variety of topics, such as: cooking around the world, financial education, jewelry making, movie making, gardening, physical fitness activities (disc golf, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, dancing, etc.), and personal development (building healthy self-esteem and positive relationships.)

Before and after school programming bridges the gap between school, family, and community, forging connections and providing a comprehensive support system to help youth succeed academically and socially.

I have always had a love for photography but it wasn’t until recently that I decided to pursue it professionally.  I am passionate about photography and love to create truly beautiful portraits of people.  My approach is simple, every image that I capture tells a story we as humans are unique in our own special way. Therefore, I always shoot with careful attention to detail giving a unique style to the special memories.

My class will focus on Communication Skills, Creativity, and Team Work. Photography not only serves as a record of events it also serves as a means to evoke emotion and shed light to important issues. I look forward to sharing my knowledge of photography and most of all having fun.

Kranto Dance & Fitness offers an after school hip hop dance program that seeks to enrich the lives of our youth through fostering a love for music and dance. The program teaches students rhythm, coordination, self-expression, and is an excellent way for kids to stay fit while having fun with their friends in a safe, educational environment after school.

Hip-Hope’s Heroes

Hip-Hope Inc. (www.hip-hopeinc.org) is excited to introduce “Hip-Hope’s Heroes”! This is a program that we offer to elementary school Kids. Like all Hip-Hope programming, “Hip-Hope’s Heroes” is a youth empowerment program that encourages self-esteem, responsibility and accountability. “Hip-Hope’s Heroes” purpose is to make Kids familiar with the characteristics of Super Heroes so that they may identify their care givers, teachers and most of all themselves as Super Heroes capable of overcoming overwhelming situations. Our overall goal is to improve the climate and culture among Kids and community. We allow them to articulate their Hopes and to cope with their challenges through various mediums of expression like art, music and dance to name a few. We have piloted this program through 21st Century at Samuelson Elementary and have seen promising developments. Hip-Hope’s sincere perspective is that all Kids are Super Heroes for functioning in spite of overwhelmingly negative conditions. They are resilient, smart and innovated survivors who deserve to realize their full potential. This is why we have Hope. This is why Kids have Hip-Hope.
