On Friday, January 16th, Samuelson honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by holding a peace walk. Check out the picture of the event here, which is posted on the Des Moines Public Schools Facebook page.  

Samuelson students celebrated Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by reenacting the peace march from Selma to Montgomery, listening to the “I Have a Dream” speech and singing “We Shall Overcome”. In the picture, 3rd graders Hai Ler Htoo, Hser Paw, Vanna Luu, Ja’Niyah Lewis, and Jacob Padilla hold hands.
