Connecting Kids With Culture

Arts and cultural experiences allow educators to enhance their curriculum by helping students make lasting connections outside of the classroom and by bringing local arts and cultural experiences into their schools. Exposure to these experiences enhances critical thinking, problem solving abilities, and collaboration and communication skills that help prepare students for success. Samuelson Elementary is lucky enough to participate in this program. Connecting Kids With Culture has funded many exciting opportunities for our students such as visiting artists, Civic Center field trips, etc.

Samuelson students used their connecting kids with culture funds to create a sculpture for the front of our school.

Visiting artists Pam Dennis and Ryk Weiss worked with students to make clay leaves and rocks to compliment our grove of oak trees which are located on our property.
